So if a cloud is not funny, then it must be, wait for it, cirrus. OK I know that’s bad but I was very impressed the other day how nice these cirrus clouds are – especially the ones in the center and right.
Cirrus clouds are also describes as mare’s tails. They are very high clouds made up of ice crystals. Just though you’d like to know
Cirrus Fan. While driving the other day, the fan shape of the clouds caught my eye. I wasn’t too crazy of the trucks in the foreground but the clouds were moving fast and I wanted to catch them like they were.
I was taken with how the illuminated clouds were highlighted against the blue sky and dark green trees just before sunset recently.

These clouds looked a lot more threatening that they were. Right around sunset, they were the result of an area of thunderstorms in eastern PA.
A photograph of approaching storm clouds. Within an hour later heavy rain fell upon the area with a few rumbles of thunder as well.
